Our Story

Handcraft Heritage, Passed Down Through A Master Weaver's Eye

Rug Revival began life as Marandi Carpets, built on a family understanding of hand-woven textiles that goes back to the loom itself. Where many rug cleaning services treat every piece the same, our team was trained to read a rug the way a master weaver does — by its knot count, its dye chemistry, its foundation — before a single drop of water touches it.

Three decades on, that heritage still shapes every rug we collect from homes, design studios and antique dealers across North and Northwest London.

Every Persian, Turkish, Oriental, European and modern designer rug that arrives at our Oriental Carpet Centre workshop is assessed on its own terms. Silk rugs are handled with a different wash chemistry to wool; hand-tufted pieces are checked for the specific weaknesses that machine-made rugs never have; antique and heirloom kilims are treated with the patience their age demands. This is the difference between a rug cleaning service and rug restoration craftsmanship — and it's why homeowners, interior designers and antique dealers keep returning to us rather than a generic carpet cleaner.

Our specialism has always been rugs and rugs alone — we do not clean fitted carpets or upholstery, which lets our team focus entirely on hand-wash cleaning, dust extraction, stain and odour treatment, fringe and edge binding, and full structural repair and reweaving. Where a rug has suffered moth damage, foundation wear, or an unravelling edge, our repair work is done by hand, matching original wool, silk or cotton wherever possible so the mend disappears into the rug's own history rather than sitting on top of it.

We collect and deliver free of charge across North and Northwest London, and can usually arrange collection further afield by request. Every job starts with a conversation about your rug's size, origin, material and dye, so the quote you receive reflects your rug specifically — never a generic price list. And if what was agreed at collection isn't delivered, we put it right at no extra cost. That's the promise behind Rug Revival: quick, reliable, honest rug care, built on thirty years of hands-on heritage.
